Graphic Design and Publications

Cal State San Bernardino’s Office of Public Affairs graphic designers help produce publications supporting campus departments and events, including the CSUSB news Web site, recruitment materials, CSUSB Magazine, various college and department newsletters, program brochures, event programs and other promotional materials. The publications team is available to provide consultation on production options, as well as editing and proofreading support. The Office of Public Affairs has professionals to direct, assist or advise you in all your needs for printed materials going primarily outside the university community. We can help you decide which format best suits your job, whether it is an annual plan, a series of publications or a specific one-time piece. Our staff can provide counsel to help you get the most out of your publication for your money and to set up a feasible production schedule.

There are several ways in which the Office of Public Affairs can assist with your design and publication needs:

If time and resources are available, the Office of Public Affairs graphic artists can format and design your publication or other graphic design needs.
If your job requires graphic design work beyond the time availability of the Office of Public Affairs, the department’s publications coordinator will work with you to help you find a capable design firm or independent designer to complete your work.
Whether our staff or others design your publication, it is imperative that the Office of Public Affairs review and edit the content and design for accuracy, clarity and consistency, as outlined in the university’s Visual Identity Standards Manual.

Any non-academic publication and advertising copy or graphic design that will be distributed off campus must go through the Office of Public Affairs for review and approval to ensure timely payment to vendors, as well as to ensure quality and proper depictions of the university. This includes material that has been designed or produced by outside contractors and your own department staff.
